Cerebellum is one of the regions in the brain where neurons are beautifully organized. Here is a picture from the cerebellum of a transgenic mouse expressing ChR2 (ChannelRhodopsin-2) and eYFP (Yellow Fluorescent Protein) in the basket cells of the cerebellum. The Purkinje cell was filled with an alexa dye. The picture above was taken as part of IBRO-KIST summer school 2012 in the laboratory of George Augustine. Recently, one of these pictures was chosen as one of the winners of the 2012 Koch Institute Image Awards here at MIT.
